Novamine took part in La Ruta del Emprendimiento “Impulsa Pyme”, an initiative promoted by SernamEG that brought together representatives of the regional ecosystem with the aim of strengthening female entrepreneurship and fostering collaboration among institutions, industry associations, and companies.

On this occasion, Novamine’s General Manager, María Alejandra Giménez Uribe, joined the panel alongside Rut Rodríguez, Rosemarie Rosas, and Marianela Cifuentes—leading figures from the services, tourism, and transportation sectors. The discussion addressed current challenges and the opportunities the region offers for the growth of women-led SMEs.

During the event, it was emphasized that Antofagasta’s favorable economic environment—characterized by sustained growth, low levels of informality, and greater productive diversification—creates new opportunities for entrepreneurs and SMEs to integrate into strategic sectors such as mining, energy, and services. The importance of strengthening coordination between public and private institutions was also highlighted, along with promoting tools that support formalization, access to financing, and innovation.

Within this context, María Alejandra Giménez delivered a message to women seeking to start a business in the region:

“The time is now. The region is experiencing unique momentum, and women entrepreneurs have a real space to contribute their talent and vision. Dare to take the step—there is an ecosystem that wants to see you grow.”
